THE EARTH AND US
M3
In M3, we are able to design a pavilion for people to gather and eat. With the title of The Earth and Us, I would like to explore on the relationship with the ground. Extrusion and explosion.

Exploring using paper cutting on how extrusion from the ground work.

My concept is about relationship with the ground, to achieve that I use extrusion from the ground for my landscape and mimicking an extrusion from the ground that folded for my pavilion.
I also aim to use one main path for circulation to guide people towards the pavilion. The extruded from ground chairs are all tilted towards the pavilion to act as a arrow to guide people towards it.
In between the path, there are a few trees to get some shade for people seating at the area.
An open pavilion is considered so more people can watch the performance or talk happening at the time.
The triangle opening on the pavilion, it gives a great visual and air flow into the stage and seating area, opening tiled towards the stage has more direct light pass through to while the seating area the light passes through are indirect so during the day when people would still be able to enjoy the pavilion.

The process of my matrix started with the paper cutting, followed with mimicking the curve and thinking on the activity and circulation for the site. It also study how opening pavilion area should be and coherent with the whole site of site extrusion.
